Show L. I). S. SESSION OUTLINES '41 WELFARE JOB More than 5000 L. D. S. church welfare program leaders and workers from 19 stakes attended the annual meeting of the Salt Lake region welfare program In the Salt Lake tabernacle Sunday night. Presidential reports were made 4 from each of the 19 stakes on welfare wel-fare activities during the past year and meeting of the budget assignments assign-ments was explained. While the reports were being made in the darkened tabernacle, pictures and charts were projected project-ed on a screen above the head of the speaker to Illustrate his talk. Dwellings for worthy needy, live- stock farming and such scenes were shown. j J. Leonard Love, bishop of the Yalecrest L. D. S. ward, and chairman chair-man of the bishops' executive committee, com-mittee, which operates the church welfare program storehouse at 749 West Seventh South street, ! in Salt Lake City, reported on dis tribution of food and other commodities com-modities from the center during the past year. Accomplishments of the program pro-gram in the Salt Lake region as a whole, which includes Salt Lake, Davis and Tooele counties, were outlined by Lester F. Hewlett, second vice-chairman of the region. re-gion. His report also was illustrated illus-trated with slides showing charts nnd pictures. Fairfield village, a subdivision of 2 5 acres east of the Jordan river between Third and Fourth North streets, was one of the larger projects he described. |
