Show NEW SERGEANTS ASSIGNED TO DISTRICTS W. D. Hammond, chairman of the state road commission, today announced the appointment of Sergeant Ser-geant L. A. Chrlstensen of Provo as sergeant in charge of Highway Patrol District No. 4, and the promotion pro-motion of Patrolman L. J. Adams of Parowan to the rank of sergeant ser-geant In charge of District No. 7, with headquarters at Cedar City. The assignment of Sergeant Chrlstensen Chrls-tensen and the promotion and assignment as-signment Adams completes the sergeant district organization of the patrol, as recommended by representatives of the International Internation-al Association of Chiefs of Police-Seven Police-Seven districts were established for administrative purposes, and two divisions, each under the direction di-rection of a lieutenant. The sergeants ser-geants assigned to the various dis- f tricts and the counties they will I have under their jurisdiction are'f as follows: T. Earl Hunsaker, Logan, Dist- j No. , Box Elder, Cache and Rich ! counties; Jack F. Gridley, Ogden, i Dist. No. 2, Davis, Weber, Morgan i: and North Summit counties; E. R McDonald, Salt Lake City, Dist No. 3, Tooele, Salt Lake, and So-Summit So-Summit counties; L. A. Christen-sen, Christen-sen, Provo, Dist. No. 4, Utah, Wasatch, Wa-satch, Duchesne and Dagget counties; coun-ties; John L. Sullivan, Helper, Dist. No. 5, Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan counties; Marion Snow, Richfield, Dist. No. 6, Gar- field, Piute, Wayne, Sevier, Sanpete San-pete and Juab counties; L. J Adams, Cedar City, district No. 7, Kane, Iron, Washington, Beaver ! and Millard counties. ; Lieutenant B. C. Hillis of Ogden ; has charge of the first division comprising districts 1, 2 and 3, and Lieutenant P. L. Dow, with headquarters at Provo, will have charge of the s.econd division comprising com-prising the other districts. Eleven new highway patrolmen are to be added to the organization organiza-tion in the immediate future. The more than 600 applicants who met the minimum requirements took preliminary examinations at the University of Utah Monday. The new organization, based on patrol studies and surveys by the state road commission, and recommended recom-mended by representatives of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, is expected to be a real factor in the development of highway high-way safety and traffic observance, according to Mr. Hammond. |
