Show PIONEER PROGRAM SPONSORED BY D.U.P. CAMP KOLOB Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Camp Kolob, were in charge of the Pioneer program given in the First ward Sunday night, following' follow-ing' the theme "Keeping up the spiritual side of Covered Wagon Days." Speakers for the evening were President J. Emmett Bird, who spoke on the subject "This Is the Place"; Mrs. Lynn Sumsion, who spoke on "Keeping up the ideals of the Pioneers," and a history of early celebrations of District Two Sunday Schools was compiled and given by Mrs. Myrtle H. Conover. A quartet, composed of John Hardy, Myrtle Childs, Mary Weight and Carrel Waters, sang "Sermon on the Mount." They were accompanied by Mrs. Lola Weight. Other special music included in-cluded the singing of the songs "O Ye Mountains High" and "Come, Come Ye Saints." Prayers were given by Joseph Clark and June Peirce. Honorary visitors were Mr. and Mrs. John Barney, Mrs. Francis Peterson, Mrs. Thaddeus Hatch, early Springville pioneers. Captain Emma Beardall presided presid-ed and Wilford Manwaring conducted con-ducted the meeting. |
