Show UTAHN APOINTED BIOLOGIST OF WILD LIFE SERVICE The appointment of Dr. Clarence Clar-ence Cottam, native of Utah, biologist biol-ogist of the Fish and Wildlife Service, Ser-vice, to a new position as assistant assist-ant to the director, was announced today by Dr. Ira Nv , Gabrielson, Service director. ' Since 1934, Dr. Cottam has been in charge of a Section devoted to research on economic wildlife problems for the Service. In this new position, Dr. Cottam will serve as a coordinating and liaison officer for the Service in the field of wildlife conservation and management in connection with other land-use agencies, particularly par-ticularly the Bureau of Reclamation, Reclama-tion, the Army Engineers of the War Department, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and other federal fed-eral and state agencies. Dr. Cottam holds three degrees, B. S., M. S., and Ph. D. After serving 'two years as an Instructor in biology at Brigham Toung University, Uni-versity, Provo, Utah, he entered federal service in 1929 as a biologist biolo-gist with the former Bureau of Biological Survey, now a part of the Fish and Wildlife Service. |
