Show Railroads Win Safety Awards For doing "twice as big a job" in. this war as in World War I, with only one-fourth the accident fatality rate, American railroads have won a special Harriman Safety Award. . In announcing the award, . the American Museum of Safety revealed re-vealed also that gold, silver and bronze E. H. Harriman Medals for leadership in railroad safety during dur-ing 1943 had been won respectively respective-ly by the Eastern District of the Union Pacific Railroad Co., the Duluth, Misabe & Iron Range Railway Company, and the Charlestown & Western Carolina railroad. |
