Show Race Violence Is Watched In New York New York City, headquarters of synthetic tolerance, reports that special police have been instructed instruct-ed to watch for race violence. A special squad of detectives has been placed on duty "as a result re-sult of recent outbreaks of racial violence caused by young Negro hoodlums on subway trains and trolley cars." The quotation is taken from the New York Times which describes a disturbance the night or June 11 on a subway train. It seems that Negro youths "rushed through the train insulting white passengers and one of them shot and seriously wounded a man who asked them to behave themselves." We call attention to this incident inci-dent in New York because it re-fflects re-fflects an ugly mood on the part of New York negroes which is the basis for our predicion that the great metropolis will be the scene of a terrible race riot in the next few years. Nothing is to be gained by ignoring ig-noring the significance of the aggressiveness ag-gressiveness displayed by Negroes Neg-roes in the industrial areas of the North and West. The clashes in Detroit and Harlem were the result re-sult of this recklessness which will inevitably cause trouble. , |
