Show trout waters with fish from the State's twelve hatcheries has been held back in many sections because be-cause of the extreme high waters and the inability of hatcherymen to get trucks into many of these sections due to the record snowfall snow-fall and lateness of the winter just past, according to Director J. It is required that the landowner land-owner , give his plantings so received re-ceived proper care and protection during the first five years of their growth. The trees and shrubs are provided pro-vided by the department' for the dual purpose of growing living animal-tight fences, windbreaks, beautification of property, and upland up-land game habitat. Neither plant is of the spreading variety. Rather they will stay confined to the original orig-inal line of planting. During 1951 this sme program found many sportsmen's groups cooperating with landowners over the State in putting out over 100,-000 100,-000 such seedlings. The Fish and Game Department again solicits the cooperation in the continuation continua-tion of this program by all concerned. Copies of the 1952 fishing proclamation proc-lamation are now available to the State's sportsmen either at license li-cense vendors or the Fish and Game Department offices in Salt Lake City. A map of the State on the reverse re-verse side of the proclamation shows accurately the drainages, general terrain, highways- and major ma-jor outlaying roadways. The last- named were added 'to the fishing map this year following many requests re-quests for same from sportsmen and tourist fishermen. It is a copy of the official state highway map as issued by the State Highway Department and gives much needed need-ed information for the fisherman going afield in Utah.
