Show Kolob Stake MIA IJews, Activities I This column will be devoted eah week to news of MIA activities. Officers of the stake and ward MIA, are invited to submit news of the various events for the column. col-umn. M. I. A. NEWS The regular MIA Stake Dance is announced for Saturday evening even-ing at the. Stake House, where an extra special floor show will be featured at 10 p.m. An invitation is extended to everyone, MIA age, to attend the dance. Juno Convention Superintendent Glenn Holley reminds re-minds MIA workers to make' plans now" to attend the annual June convention to be held in Salt Lake City June 13 and 14. Music Festival The Third ward chorus, directed by Miss Edna Neilson, was judged first place in the MIA Music festival fes-tival held in the Stake House Monday Mon-day evening. The Eighth ward, directed di-rected by Dorothy Clark and Elaine Jessee,- took second place. The evening's program was given giv-en as follows: Ninth Ward "King of Glory" directed by Elda Jensen and accompanied ac-companied by Anna Mae Wardle. Eighth ' Ward "If With All Your Heart" directed by Dorothy, Clark and accompanied by Elaine Jessee. Fifth Ward "Open the Gates to the Temple" directed by Zara Tonks and accompanied by Carol Francis. Third Ward "Be Merciful, Oh Lord" directed by Edna Nielson and accompanied by Oleah Sargent. Sar-gent. Sixth Ward "O Divine Redeemer" Re-deemer" directed by Beryl Nelson and accompanied by Jane Cher-rington. Cher-rington. Mapleton "Nobody knows the Trouble I've Had" and "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho" directed by Beth Jensen and accompanied by Marjorie Wiscombe. Fourth Ward Duet by Shelia Averett and Marilyn Thorpe, "When You Wish Upon a Star." First, Second and Seventh Wards were not represented. |
