Show Granddad License Holders Reminded Of Eye Exam, Date "Utah motorists holding a "grandaddy" drivers' license, who who have -not yet required eye examinations, will do themselves a favor by attending to this important im-portant matter promptly," the Utah Safety Council advised them today. The deadline for completing the eye examination and having the license validated by the Drivers' License Division is January 1, 1957. The licenses of persons who fail .to do so will be cancelled after af-ter that date, in compliance with the law passed by the 1955 Utah Legislature. "This requirement is for the protection of such motorists, and for others, too," the Council reported, re-ported, "because proper vision is a prime necessity for safe driving at any time. We urge everyone who has not yet taken care of this matter to do so immediately and avoid the last-minute rush. The Drivers' License Division reports re-ports that almost half the grand-daddy grand-daddy license holders have yet to have their licenses validated. Remember Re-member you must see trouble to avoid it!" While the process can be accomplished ac-complished by mail, it is much better to do so in person and thereby avoid delay and temporary tempor-ary loss of possession of one's license. When the eye certificate is mailed in, the license must also be mailed for the departmental stamping. In same cases, the old licenses are so torn and unreadable un-readable that duplicates must be issued. This causes further delay when the mails are used. The best procedure therefore is to do it in person at the drivers' license office at the county court building in Provo, it is stated. |
