Show Steel Official Talks To Farmers Ofjhis Vicinity An exhibition of the good will which Columbia Geneva Steel Division Di-vision of U. S. Steel Co. has extended ex-tended to the people of this area since establishment of the steel mill in this locality, was seen again this week in a talk made by Loren J. Westover, vice-president and manager, Utah Operations, before farmers of Utah County. The address was made Tuesday afternoon in regard to reparations which the company intends to make to the farmers who claim damage to their farms and livestock live-stock as result of alleged fluoride air pollution. "Since the time of our last meeting meet-ing we have continued to push all phases of the company's air control con-trol program to the very best of our ability. Measures have been taken to reduce substantially the fluorides discharged 'from our Utah County works into the atmosphere at-mosphere and much engineering work has been completed and contracts con-tracts have been let for the installation instal-lation of some of the equipment which the research work of the engineers has determined to be required. re-quired. You will recall that at our last meeting the matter of a claims settlement program was discussed. Since that meeting the company has made progress. Not only has it initiated corrective measures, but it has acted to establish es-tablish an orderly procedure for the receipt and processing of individual in-dividual claims. "In order that processing of individual in-dividual claims may get under j way, it will be necessary for each of you to present your claim to the company. We have prepared a Standard Claim Form to help you in the presentation of your claim.
