Blair -Sargent, nee Dickie Jane Huntington - ' i Temple Rites Unite Popular Couple, Honored at Friday Evening Reception i An important social event of the past week was the wedding reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. M. Blair Sargent, on Friday evening, June 20, in the Springville Second-Eighth ward i church. The couple were married Thursday Thurs-day evening, June 19, in the Manti LDS Temple. The bride, the former for-mer Dickie Jane Huntington, is tho daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Huntington, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Merle Sargent, all of Springville. Spring-ville. The bride and groom greeted their numerous gues in the lobby of Uie church. They stood before a double row of candelabra banked w'th an artistic arrangement of ThV-fes and white delphinium lne ondesmaids nosegays were of jancl white, fashioned into the form of a double wedding ring. The bridal bouquet was of steph-anotis steph-anotis centered with a white orchid. or-chid. The bride wore an exquisite gown of white satin and chantilly lace. It was fashioned with tight-fitting tight-fitting bodice, high neckline with standjp collar, and long pointed sleeves, with lace scalloped to the elbow, matching the scalloped lace collar. The full skirt and train were of lines beautiful in their simplicity; and the finger-tip veil of bride's illusion fell from a tight-fitting tight-fitting cap of white satin trimmed with seed pearls. Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Janice Sargent, sister of the groom, whose bal-1 lerina-length gown was of green frosted organdy. Bridesmaids, Darla Robbins, Dorothy May Garrett Gar-rett and Dorothy Peterson wore matching dresses of pink frosted organdy. Mrs. Huntington, mother of the bride, chose a gown of steel-gray crepe, and the bridegroom's mother mo-ther wore a model of old-rose. They wore identical corsages of camellias. Best-man duties were performed by Bill Dudley of Spanish Fork. Hosts and hostesses for th evening even-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Groesbeck and Bishop and Mrs. JLeo A. Crandall. Mrs. Mae Huntington, aunt of the bride had charge of the serving room. Friends of the bride who assisted with the serving were Kay Groesbeck, Groes-beck, Donna Jean Crandall, Laura Lee McKenzie, 'Lu Ann McPher-son, McPher-son, Carol Friel, Eileen Hales, Rae Ann Boyer and Lenore Crandall. Sisters of the bride, Mrs. Carl Poulsen and Mrs. EIRay Fehr, were in charge of the guest book. Presiding in the gift rooms were aunts of the bride, Mrs. J. H. Thorn and Mrs. F. L. Gardner. String music during the evening was furnished by Dorothy Clark and Elaine Jessee, accompanied at the piano by Jane Harrison. An attractive color scheme in pink and white was carried" out in all details of the reception, a beautiful 3-tiered wedding cake on pillars with pink double jwed-ding jwed-ding ring trim centered the serving serv-ing table. Pink candles in crystal holders with pink rosebuds entwined en-twined added to the attractive decoration. Guests were served at small tables with pink and white covers. Mr. and Mrs. Sargent are both graduates of the Springville high school and seminary, and of the Brigham Young University, where Mrs. Sargent was affiliated with Nautilus of N. L. U. and A. C. E. I. She has taught school the past year in Spanish Fork.i Mr. Sargent served during World War II in the TJ. S.- Army, and - is at present a civil service employee in the Spring"ville post office. For a going away outfit the bride chose a grey suit with red accessories. After their honeymoon honey-moon the couple will reside in Springville. |
