Brookside Recreation Group Enjoys Varied Program Throughout Week Children who attend the Brookside Brook-side Recreational playground periods pe-riods are having a good time, it would seem fpom a report on some of the activities this week. Recently the children wore their fanciest creations for "Crazy Hat and tap, tumbling instruction, base ball, kick the ball, crochet and hop scotch. The Recreation Centers are for boys and girls from 5 years to 12 years, and all are invited. Day" and the results brought forth much fun and laughter. After making the hats and exhibiting them to the group, the boys and girls paraded through Brookside led by a "brass band" of pan lids and pie plates. Some of the most clever and most original hats were worn by Yvonne Ames, Karen Kerr, Billie Straw and Jack Fifield, with Karen Ka-ren taking first -for most original and Jack for the funniest. , Monday through Friday, the chiMren of the area are offered a variety of activity from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., directed by Freda Vernon, local dance instructor and recreational teacher. The day by day schedule is as follows: Monday, Mon-day, baton, tap ' and tumbling; Tuesday, painting, ceramics, pictures; pic-tures; Wednesday, handiwork and braiding; Thursday, hobby day, weaving, story hour, special activity ac-tivity and games; Friday, both play centers meet at the city park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for baton |
