The Springville Herald took second place in General Excellence Excel-lence in the National Editorial Association As-sociation Better Newspaper Contest Con-test for 1952. st was announced this week from the NEA office t Chicago, 111. A total of 974 newspapers were judged for the various contests. The Springville Herald, so far as wiiild be learned, was the only newspaper in the state of Utah to receive a national award. First nlace winner in the General Excellence Ex-cellence division of the contest went to the Bainbridge Review of Winslow, Wash., and third place to the' Stratford Connecticut jews. ' The Springville Herald is to receive re-ceive a plaque offered by the Uni-versity Uni-versity of Missouri for second place. The awards were made at the National Editorial convention held the past week in Buffalo, n. y.
