Show Mapleton Hews By Mrs. Norris T. Binks lMiono 0109-R t Mr. and Mrs. Willis Harmer and Mr. and Mrs. S. LaVel Bird are spending a week viisting with Mr. and Mrs. Reed L. Clegg of Vancouver, Van-couver, Washington, who are the son-in-law and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harmer and with Mr and Mrs. Max Morgan of Portland Oregon, who are daughter and son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Bird. Mrs. Pearl Holley is in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City where sh.3 underwent a major operation last week. Mrs. Eugene Mortensen and two sons Gayland and Wayne of San-ford, San-ford, Colorado, are guests at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Whiting They came especially to bring Wayne to Provo where he will attend at-tend the BYU this winter. They have also visited at the home of a brother Mr. L. A. Nielsen. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Bird accompanied ac-companied by Mayor and Mrs Elmer W. Bird were joined by a sister Mrs. Jennie Hill of Salt Lake City and a brother and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Merril Bird of Ogden and are spending a delightful de-lightful weekend visiting relatives in Rexburg, Idaho. They have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Manwaring and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Byrne. Mr. and Mrs. John Cox and family fam-ily who have made their home in Mapleton this summer have moved to Santaquin where they will both teach school this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pate of West Los Angeles, California, are spending several days in Mapleton Maple-ton visiting with friends. Their son Drexel will leave Thursday for Logan where he will enroll in the agricultural college. . A ward budget banquet will be held in the Mapleton ward church Thursday night at 7:30 o'clock. Calvin Johnson has been selected as chairman of this affair. A splendid program has been arranged ar-ranged by the Elder's Quorum and a delicious supper will be served by all of the organizations of the ward with the Relief Society in charge. All ward members are urged to come and bring their own dishes. 1 Darrell Warren, son of Bishop and Mrs. Welby Warren left on Thursday for Ephrium where he will enroll in the Snow Branch college. Mrs. Hannah Binks in company with Bishop and Mrs. Wm. C. Beckstrom and her sister Mrs. Louise Robertson of Spanish Fork has returned from an enjoyable trip to the canyons of Southern Utah and Colorado. Mrs. Zora Hales and her daugh.1-ter daugh.1-ter Doris accompanied her son Blaine to Fort Lewis, Washington. While in Washington they visited at the home of Mrs. Edward Lar-sen Lar-sen of Seattle. Mrs. Larsen is a sister of Mrs. Hales. The Neddie-Craft Club met at the home of Mrs. Arena Holley Thursday afternoon. Assisting the hostess were Vanda Jensen and Esther Hurst." Mrs. Georgia Plumlee has received re-ceived word that her son Joe of Salt Lake City has been elected president of the beauticians association assoc-iation of Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Binks and small daughter Susan of Payson and Mrs. Norris Binks spent last Thursday in Salt Lake City visiting visit-ing Mrs. C. W. Erickson. Mr. and Mrs. Parley P. Perry and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Perry of Provo spent three days last week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Rudolph and family of Burley, Idaho. Mrs. Rudolph is the former Inez Perry and is a daughter daugh-ter of Parley Perry. |
