Show Devils Lose 27-0 To Carbon in Playoff Game Fri. When Marvin Fullmer went out of the ball game following the first play of the game between Springville and Carbon at Spanish Fork last Friday in their playoff contest, so went the Red Devils' chances of victory. This sudden blow in the opening moments of the game was unfortunate for the Devils as they were unable to cope with the Dinos and consequently lost 27-0. Carbon was outplayed in the first quarter, but bi-eaks of the game favored the Dinos and after intercepting a Devil pass and breaking away for long runs, the Carbon club came up with the victory vic-tory in freezing weather. Carbon's victory earned them the right to meet East high in a Semi-final game Friday at East. Springville's loss closed the season sea-son for the Devils and their efforts ef-forts will now go to the cage sport. The Devils, under Coaches George Pehrson, Alma Garrett and Gordon Gor-don Smith, assistants, have done a commendable job this year and had one of the very finest teams of the school. |
