Oris Packard of Reno, Nev., and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Packard of Fillmore; also Mrs. Alton Harker and son Ralph Alton of Salt Lake City visited early this week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Packard, coming especially to see their mother who is convalescing from a recent major operation. The family of Mrs. Beulah Whiting Whit-ing were together for a hamburger hambur-ger fry Saturday evening in the garden at the Harold Whiting home. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spring-meyer Spring-meyer and family came from Salt Lake City for the party and spent the weekend with Mrs. Beulah Whiting and Mr. and Mrs. Verl Whiting and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mell Haymond and family and the Harold Whiting family who were all in attendance at the party. Only three members of the entire family group were unable to attend. at-tend. Mr. and Mrs1. Berton Groesbeck and daughter Janet returned Sun- I day from an enjoyable vacation trip. They traveled to Niagara Falls, N.Y., and from there around 1 the Great Lakes into Canada. En- route home they took a northern route across northern Michigan, Minnesota and North Dakota; into Canada and to Lake Louise returning re-turning by way of Glacier National Na-tional Park. Jack T. Wightman, son of Mr. ! and Mrs. Wm. A. Wightman has arrived home for a short furlough 1 after finishing his training in statistical sta-tistical work for the Air Force at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver. Den-ver. He will go to Pinecastle, AFB at Orlando, Fla., where he will take up his new duties at the termination ter-mination of his visit here. ' Howard Salisbury left Monday for Rexburg, Ida., to take over his duties as instructor in the English department of Ricks College. He has spent three weeks in Springville Spring-ville with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Salisbury, after completing his studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., where he has been enrolled the past three years. Mr. and Mrs. Jess C. Dalton and daughter Carol Lee of San Gabriel, Calif., have been visiting Mr. Dalton's mother, Mrs. Sarah Dalton and sister, Mrs. Sadie Burns and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorn and family in Springville the past few days. They came especially es-pecially for their daughter to enroll en-roll at the University of Utah. They planned also to visit other relatives and friends in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rowland and twin daughters, Kathleen and Patricia, have gone to. live in Long Beach, Calif., where Lawrence is employed with the Union Oil Company. Com-pany. x |
