Show Salt Lake LDS Temple Rites Unite Miss Gwen Carlen, Kenneth Long Autumn nuptial news is highlighted by the wedding wed-ding of Miss Gwen Carlen, charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evans Carlen of this city and Kenneth .Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Long, also of Springville. The wedding took place in the Salt Lake Temple on Thursday, September 9, followed by a wedding wed-ding breakfast at Hotel Temple Square, with parents of the groom acting as host and hostess. In the evening, a reception was given for the newlyweds in Kolob Stake house, by parents of the bride. For her wedding gown, the new Mrs. Long choose a beautiful model mod-el fashioned of nylon tulle and Chantilly lace over slipper satin, with tiny standup collar and sweetheart neckline. The form fitting fit-ting bodice was emphasized by long pointed sleeves and a full gathered skirt of tulle ballerina length, with scalloped lace inserts. Her veil was arranged to a Juliet hat in two tiers of bridal illusion, finger-tip length. She carried a beautiful bouquet consisting of art-, orchid surrounded surround-ed with pink rose-buds and step-hantois step-hantois and streamers of pink satin sa-tin ribbon. Attending the bride were Mrs. Louise L. Murphy, sister of the groom, as matron of honor, gowned gown-ed in orchid taffetta, with corsage cor-sage of white mums surrounded by tiny orchid and yellow mums, and pink ribbon. Miller, Mrs. Harlan Boyer and Mrs. Lela Nelson arranged the gifts, assisted by Ann McDonald, Barbara Jean Houtz and Claudia Witt. Arranging the trousseau were Mrs. Morris Thorpe, Mrs. Stan Nielson, and Richard Newton. For her honeymoon, the bride wore a burgandy sheath dress with sport jacket and grey accessories. acces-sories.
