Show Springville Girl Wins Honors In Dress Making Miss Nan Harward, 13, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Harward, can be proud of the honors she won the past week having been judged for first place in a fashion show in Provo, featuring 17 students stu-dents who have taken a summer sewing course with the Singer Sewing Machine Co. Miss Harward made a stunning model in her Bates cotton dress of dull green with yellow piping. Her outfit was shipped to Denver, where it will be entered in district competition. Miss Harward received a scissor set as a prize in addition to the honor. Miss Carolyn Deeben, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Deeben also of Springville took third place in the contest with a red gingham model with white detatchable collar col-lar and cuffs. Miss Eunice Howe was class instructor in-structor and judges for the contest included Virginia Poulsen of the BY high school and NaVee Wyn-der, Wyn-der, a former high school instruc-I instruc-I tor. |
