Show PTA Council Holds Instruction Meet PTA organizations should make every effort to recognize existing school problems and then solve them, Supt. W. W. Brockbank of Nebo district stated at a school of instruction for PTA officers con ducted Friday evening at the high 'school. To arrive at a better understanding understand-ing of boys and girls, parents and teachers should use their PTA organizations or-ganizations to discuss their particular par-ticular problems and then do something some-thing about them, he said. During the general session also, Mrs. Henry Campbell of Spanish Fork, a Region 2 director, outlined and discussed the PTA objectives. Mrs. Rose Levanger of Springville effectively described the Oak tree $ which is used as the PTA emblem, and Clyde Lundell, accompanied by his wife at the piano, sang an appropriate ap-propriate number, "Trees." Prelude music was rendered by Ann Johnson on the violin, accompanied accom-panied by Jane Harrison on the piano and these girls also gave numbers during the program. Following the general session, department meetings were held to acquaint the various officers with their respective duties. Mrs. Campbell Camp-bell was in charge of the presidents' presi-dents' meeting; Mrs. Christine Yor-genson Yor-genson of Orem, a district officer, and Mrs. Alice Crowley, hospitality hospital-ity and publicity; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bartlett, program; Mrs. Frank Johnson of Mapleton, membership; mem-bership; Mrs. J. R. Sayer, Maple-ton, Maple-ton, room representatives; Mrs. Blake Riding, magazine; Mrs. Russell Rus-sell Blackett, adult education; Mrs. Blaine Johnson, secretaries and treasurers. The school of instruction was arranged ar-ranged by the PTA Central Council Coun-cil with Mrs. Clarence Deeben, president, in charge. |
