Show glook alive. Do the following: to keep the tree fresh: 1. As soon as the tree is brought home, throw cold water all over it. 2. Then cut off the butt end about an inch slantwise to open the pores for drawing up water. 3.. Set the freshly cut end promptly promp-tly in water. 4. Keep the tree in a cool shady place until it comes indoors for trimming. 5. To hold the tree in water, a crosswise rack may be fitted over a pail or other container, concealed conceal-ed by covering with aluminum foil-Small foil-Small stones or brick pieces in the container give weight and support so the tree won't topple. 6. Replenish water daily, because be-cause a 5 or 6-foot tree may take up as much as a cup a day. 7. Set the tree away from radiator, radia-tor, stove, fireplace, hot light bulbs, radio or television.
