' The high school has taken on a gay and festive air with the perfume of pine trees pervading the halls. In spite of the absence of snow, ' the Christmas trees put up this week reminds us that Christmas is nearer than we think and also that holiday vacation we look forward to. Students were thrilled with the national assembly at the high school on Wednesday and it gave some an idea, why spend so much for band instruments when such musical sounds come from a tub. The junior class is selling Christmas Christ-mas trees this year to raise funds for their various activities. The sophomore cheer-leaders haxe been chosen. They are Janet Llewellyn, RaVae Allan, Carol Ann Johnson, Jerry Fullmer, Phyllis Hansen, Sharlene Senior, Janet Harmer, Jerry Cranmer, Sherman Russell, Sherlene Bird, Lois Lowe, Elaine Cameron, - Derris Diamond, Wanda Murray, Margueretta Campbell. Sophomore Day was very successful suc-cessful with a dance and assembly assem-bly and other activities. The Thespians of the high school have been conducting initiation initia-tion ceremonies the past week. They entertained the old members mem-bers at a luncheon and program Tuesday night and on Thursday old members conducted an initiation initia-tion ceremony presenting each new member with a rose, the symbol of the club. New officers of the club are: Helen Ash, president; Ann Patrick, Pat-rick, vice - president; Sharlene Bjarnson, secretary; Dona Jane Carter, historian; Coleen Jensen, reporter and Kent Diamond, doorman. door-man. The Art club of the high school has 'also been conducting initiation initia-tion ceremonies and a special candle-lighting ceremony brought new members into the group. Oliver Parson is advisor and the following new officers have been elected: Fritz Boyer, president; Robert Radcliffe, vice-president; Marlene Oakley, secretary; Ann Merie Fry, treasurer. The group is to meet monthly. |
