Show Japanese Girls Contribute Dolls The students of Komatsugawa Girls high school in Tokyo have presented UNESCO with 19 beautiful beau-tiful Japanese dolls in traditional costume. The girls dressed the dolls themselves and presented them last autumn to the UNESCO office in Japan as a token of their enthusiasm for the work of the Organization. The dolls have now been received receiv-ed at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, where they are on display. They include models dressed in various costumes worn by Japanese Japan-ese a young bride in white robes decorated with gold brocade, a dancing girl in a brilliant red dress with brightly colored designs, de-signs, a puppet man, the equiva- lent of a European Guignol player as well as famous figures from Japanese history. After the exhibition chances on the dolls will be sold, the proceeds pro-ceeds going to UNESCO's Rehabilitation Reha-bilitation Service. |
