Show Joyce Whiting To Leave Soon On LDS Mission Miss Joyce Whiting, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Whiting of Mapleton .has accepted a call to serve in the Central Atlantic LDS mission. She will enter the mission home June 18, and will leave for her mission on June 27. Headquarters Headquar-ters will be at Roanoke, Va. Honoring the missionary before her departure, a farewell testimonial testi-monial program will be held in the Mapleton ward chapel Sunday evening, beginning at T p.m., which all members of her ward and friends are cordially invited. The program planned for the occasion includes: opening song, "0 Ye Mountains High," followed by prayer by Bruce Mendenhall; the sacrament song will be, "I know that My Redeemer Lives;" Welburn Johnson will give an organ or-gan selection and William T. Tew will give the talk. There will be a song by Marilyn Whiting and remarks by Bishop Welby Warren. War-ren. The parents of the missionary will speak as will Miss Whiting. The closing song will be, "God be with You," followed by prayer by Donald Allan. The departing missionary graduated gradu-ated from the Springville high school and Seminary and also from the BYU. For the past two years, she has been teaching in the junior high school. |
