Show Farmers Schedule 1951 Hay Prices Some 26 hay growers of Utah County met Monday night, June 4. in Provo, on the call of the County Farm Bureau hay committee commi-ttee and discussed a uniform price for hay this year. After a two-hour discussion, when growers had shown that labor, machinery, and baling supplies sup-plies had advanced since last year, and that the first crop is not up to normal because of alfalfa weevil damage, cold weather, and that the hay supply in the southern and eastern Utah and in California is below normal, it was decided to ask the following prices for hay in 1951. All three crops were counted in this consideration.- Loose and raked in the field $24. Loose in the stack $29. Baled in the field $29. Baled in the stack $32. Delivery charges, extra to be decided de-cided by trucker, producer, and consumer. 1 Committee members include: Vern Crandall, Springville; Ray Ekins, Provo; Dave Schuler, Pay-son; Pay-son; and T. H. Reese, Payson. The prices in 1950 were $25.00 baled in the field, and $27.00 baled in the stack. |
