Show Editorial: THE SCANDELOUS YEARS In a recent issue, LOOK Magazine printed a chap-ter-and-verse record of Pendergastism in Washington stretching back over the last six years. The article begins with the remark made by President Pres-ident Truman : "My people are honorable all of them." Seven pages follow each one jam-packed with facts the political scandals, the favoritism, the frauds, and the corruption of the Truman Administration. Adminis-tration. The article ends with the question : "How deep does this corruption run?" The article is sensational because it is a calendar of facts. The ending sentence is significant because daily there is more news of the same. Daily numerous Senate and Congressional Committees unravel, or reveal, re-veal, or find the shock of discovering still more of the same. In these very critical times, it takes courage to ask the American people to face into the blistering-light blistering-light of truth. But the American people have courage and they want the truth. The truth shall make them free. |
