Show Legion Auxiliary Names Two for Girls State Two Springville girls have been selected to go to Girls' State at Logan this year through the sponsorship spon-sorship of the American Legion Auxiliary, of icers of the unit announced Wednesday. The two named are Miss June Chader, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Chader and Miss Helen Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson. Both are juniors at the high school, which is an age requisite re-quisite for all candidates. Their mothers are both active and longstanding long-standing members of the Auxiliary. Auxil-iary. The two girls will leave Sunday June 24, for the week's training and recreation encampment. They will return on Sunday, July 1. Announcement of the Girls' State candidates was made at a meeting of the Legion Auxiliary Wednesday evening. Upon their return, re-turn, they will be expected to give a report of their activities and impressions of Girls' State at the Auxiliary meeting, July 11. Purpose of the encampment is to give instructions on leadership and government and to acquaint the girls with community problems and methods by which they may be solved. |
