Show N. L.. Votes for Less Lively Ball CHICAGO, Dec. 8 (U.R) National Nation-al league club owners in their annual an-nual winter meeting voted today to use a less lively ball in 1938. By a decisive vote, they agreed to adopt a ball with a slightly thicker cover, although the new ball will have more life than the ball in use before the jack-rabbit cover was brought into the league in 1933. The American league voted to retain its present 'ball. The club owners voted favor-I favor-I ably on Cincinnati's application for seven night baseball dates. ! There was no opposition. Any i other club in the league also may I schedule night home games. The I American has voted down night baseball for one year. |
