Show AGENTS JOIN KIDNAP SEARCH WHITE PLAINS, N. Y., Dec. 7 U.E Agents of the Bureau of Investigation In-vestigation joined police today in a search for Arthur Fried, 32, a construction company executive. Fried, missing from his fashionable fashion-able apartment since Saturday night, was reported to have been kidnaped and held for $200,000 ransom. Although this was denied de-nied by police and members of his family, one investigator said that his brother, Hugo, following telephone instructions, had found a note demanding $200,000 for his return. Members of the family believed that Fried left home because of a domestic quarrel, and that he would return in a day or two just as he did on a similar occasion a year and a half ago. A report that Fried was a witness wit-ness in a recent racket investigation investiga-tion of special prosecutor Thomas E. Dewey was denied by Dewey. |
