Boyd recently completed two years training with the Marines. Springvile couple set wedding date August 11 in SL Temple Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Brown announce the engage-ment and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Judy, to Rulon Blaine Twitchell, son of Mrs. Ruby Norton. Scene of the August 11 wedding will be the Salt Lake Temple. The following evening they will be honored at a reception at the Kolob Stake House. The charming bride-to-b- e is a graduate of the LDS Seminary and will graduate in May 'from Springville High School. She is affiliated with the Pep Club and is also a member of the school paper staff. Blaine is a graduate of Seminary and Springville High School, where he played an active part in F.F.A. work. Church kitchen shower enjoyable The Sixth and the Eleventh ward Relief Societies joined in sponsoring a shower for the kitchen of the new Kolob Stake House Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Loyd Bird was mistress of ceremonies and announced a program which included duets by Mrs. Clara Childs and Mrs. R. L. Wilson of .the stake board; a Calypso trio com-posed of Michael Woodward, Douglas Turner and Gloria Sargent; interpretative dances, Martha Craig and vocal solos, Mrs. Ernest Boyer, accompan-ied by Mrs. Grant Richins. After the program, refresh-ments were served and the ladies looked over the gifts presented to the kitchen. In charge of the party were the Relief Society presidents, Mrs. Loyd Bird and Mrs. Wil-liam Weight and their officers. Art Tea event attracts 340 The Easter weekend brought many visitors to the Art Gal-lery the number being notably increased by those who attend-ed the annual Art Tea, spon-sored by the Federated Wo-me-clubs of 'Springville, Sat-urday afternoon. A total of 340 women com-prising those from Springville and other parts1 of the state and their guests, were served refreshments 'and enjoyed the paintings in the 1960 exhibit. They were greeted by presi-dents of the ten Federated clubs and other officials in-cluding Mrs. George Dewey Clyde, wife of the governor. Adding a note of glamor to the event were the lovely de-corations themed to spring and emphasizing spring colors of pink, yellow and orchid. An arrangement of yellow and orchid iris centered the serving table; pink geraniums were in the windows and gar-den furniture and a hand-mad- e neach tree in blossom were ar- - ranged in the hall. A unique part of the decor-ations were the illuminated floral arrangements sent to the gallery through the cour-tesy of Mrs. Anthon B. Chris-tense- n of Orem by' Mrs. Ber-to- n, Harmer, a former resident of Springville and her partner Mrs. Jenkins who operate the shop at Hill Field. The first U. S. President to die in the.
