We really appreciate all those parents and friends who came to see our Science Fair last Friday. All the teachers and all the students helped to make the posters, pictures and displays, of which we were all very proud. Some of the stu-dents participated in demon-strations also. We feel that the Science Fair is one of the outstanding things our school has done. We thank our PTA officers, too, who came and served re-freshments both in the after-noon and the evening. This week we are trying to get back to our regular stu-dies. Mr.' Poulsen's Fifth grade girls have finished the Hop-scotch Tournament. The stand ings are: Janice Garrett, 1st place; Janelen Snelson, 2nd; Shery Pyper, 3rd; and Chery-lo- n Liston, 4th. Mrs. LeRoy's Second grad-ers report having had a very good Easter. Everyone had lots of fun. Bonnie Carter and David Duncan got baptized. They have been studying about machines in their class last week. They made a book. Mr. Allred's Sixth grade is studying Japan. Randall Ave-re- tt brought some pictures his sister had sent him from Ja-pan. They were very interest-ing and the class all really en-joyed them. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Nagel and their son Lamar and wife of Salt Lake City were Sun-days guests of . Mr. Nagel's sister and brother-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Averett. Easter weekend brings visitors from far and near to Mapleton Easter Sunday guests at the lome of Mrs. Harry Greenall vere her brother and sister-in-a- Mr. and Mrs. Paul Keeler ind four children of Manti. Mrs. John Evans of Leam-ngto- n is spending several days it the home of her daughter ind son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Vm. Whiting. Mr. and Mrs. Reese Mower md family of Bell Gardens, Bruce has been staying with relatives in Springville while attending the BYU. Gee Seal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Seal, was host at a party Saturday evening for a group of his friends. Twenty three girls from the Sixth grade of the Sage Creek and Mapleton schools were en-tertained at the home of Mary Hjorth at a "Get Acquainted" party Friday night. An even-ing of games and refreshments were enjoyed. A star quilt was made at the home of Mrs. Merrill Hal-verso- n recently where her guests were friends from Span-ish Fork. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth was the scene of a family gathering of the Otis Hjorth family Sunday.- - Pot Luck supper was served to the following members: Mr. and Mrs. Jim Miller and fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hjorth and family, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hjorth all of Springville. Anna Hjorth of San Francisco, Dick Pexton of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Hjorth and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth and families of Mapleton. Visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Holley were their son Dr. Ro-bert L. Holley and family of Yuba City, Calif. They were also guests at the home of Mrs. Holley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Taylor of Span-ish Fork. They came especially to attend the golden wedding anniversary of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Percy Mower of Provo which wa held Saturday evening. Their married son Don and his new bride accompanied them. Bill Wiscombe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wiscombe, left Saturday for six months of training at Fprt Ord, Calif. He is a graduate of the Springville High School and has completed his second year at the Brig-ha- Young University. In a recent letter from their son Boyd, Mr. and. Mrs. Reid M. Hales were informed that he had been appointed second counselor in the Southern Far East LDS Mission. Prior to that appointment he had been mission secretary. Mrs. Frank Davies is home after spending several days with her daughter Mildred (Mrs. Dean Haymond) and staying with her family while she was confined to the hos-pital. A young grandson Davy returned home with his grand-mother and will spend several days with them. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Heath and son David of Grace, Idaho and formerly of Mapleton spent the weekend here. They were here to attend the fare-well testimonial held for their son Bruce who is soon leaving for an LDS mission to France. lor of Provo and Mrs. Harriet R. Rosse of southern Califor-nia. These women had not been together for over thirty years. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Jensen and family of Avondale, Ariz., were among the out of town relatives who were here for the Peter Jensen funeral. Other relatives here were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hanson of Kanab, Mrs. Ralph Dyett of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Warren of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Carlo Perkins of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Delias Jensen of Fort Duchesne. Recent visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Warren and Mr. and Clifford Fullmer were Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Fullmer of Logan Sunday. Madeliene Rogers was honor-ed on her fourth birthday with a party at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers. Her young guests en-joyed games and efreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Davidson motored to Ogden Sunday to visit with members of their family. New resident in Mapleton are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sel-ma- n and three' children of Payson who have purchased the Lawrence Wilson home on south Center Street. Also moving , into Mapleton to make their home are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Walker (Bever-ly Miller) who are living in the Leonard Hatfield house. Mapleton visitors last week were Fred Jensen and daugh-ter Jenean of Panquitch. They were guests at the home of his mother, Mrs. Hattie Jensen. A group of old friends were entertained at the home of Mrs. Leonard Hatfield Wed-nesday of last week. Guests included Mrs. Arthur Thorpe of Springville, Mrs. Roy Tay- - Family celebrates Easter together Easter Sunday was a spe-cial occasion for the J. A. Rothwell family who were all together for an Easter dinner, visiting and picture taking. During the day, Capt. and Mrs. Lyman Rothwell called from Montgomery, Ala., to wish their parents and broth-ers and sisters a happy Easter and a grandson Kay Maynard called from his army base in Maine. Gathered together for the day were, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Rothwell of Leslie, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schultz of Mur-ray; Mr. and Mrs. D. C.
