Show SUGAR VERY SCARCE; PRICE ADVANCE SEEN Sugar scarcity is general at present, according to quotations received from sugar markets in various parts of the country. In Salt Lake most grocers are allowing allow-ing ten pounds and in some cases twenty-five twenty-five only -to each customer. The supply here is very limited and whether it will hold out until next week, when the fin't new sugar from Utah factories will be on the market, is questionable, dealers say. No relief can he obtained from the California Cali-fornia factories, as they are not shipping to this market, it is stated, j Kastern advices state that the prices may become a great deal higher after December 31, when the sugar equalization board relinquishes control of the market. This condition was prevented last year by the buying up of the supply of sugar in Cuba by tho government. |
