During the summer, experts of the United States department of agriculture have been imparting instruction to leaders of agriculture in Trance. One of the men from Syria who was a studen at t lie canning course is a doctor of science and a director of the observatory in Syria. The other is supervisor su-pervisor of all tho Jesuit missions in Syria and Armenia. They plan to introduce in-troduce the work to Syria and Armenia. The two men from Egypt had just been graduated from .college and were ready j to leave for their home in Cairo when the canning demonstrations began. They became so interested that they postponed their departure and attended nil the Vclures. They also asked for instruction in county-agent organization. organiza-tion. These Egyptians hope to come to America in tho near future and study American extension methods. The work in Franco will not end with the return of tho American -teachers, for the leaders who took tho course will teach tho French people homo canning can-ning this fall, and the American committee com-mittee for devastated Franco is .also taking -up the work.
