Show TOIEEI GETS AHOTHEOECDHO Sales Dispose of Half, His ! Truck Allotment in His Absence. A. E. Tourssen, distributor for Oldsmo-, Oldsmo-, bile Economy trucks and Oldsmobile pas-1 pas-1 senger cars, returned from the Oldsmo-, Oldsmo-, bile factory last week, only to find that his sales organization had achieved an-! an-! other brilliant sales record. I Mr. Tourssen went east in order to se-I se-I cure a large number of trucks as soon i as possible. After some energetic "shirtsleeve" "shirt-sleeve" diplomacy, he succeeded in cor-, cor-, nering an allotment of sixty-five trucks 1 to be delivered immediately. By the time he reached Salt Lake, however, his organ -t ization had sold half of this number, and had prospects that threatened to make serious inroads Into the balance. "We are doing everything in our power to protect our buyers from any possible ; shortage in Economy trucks," said Mr. Tourssen. "That was the purpose of my I visit to the factory. We have been con-! con-! fronted for several months with the most : tremendous demand for trucks ever ; known in the west, and I was certain that special precautions had to be taken in , order to insure a sufficient supply to meet this demand. "I therefore went to the factory and, in the face of keen competition from other distributors in different parts of the country, finally obtained a definite allotment of sixty-five trucks, but, in face of the fact that these are half gone already, I will have to take other steps to make sure we will have trucks on hand in case of a falling off of production on account of labor or material conditions. "In view of the rapidity with which Oldsmobile Economy trucks are selling, it is hardly necessary to caution those who are figuring on buying one that there 1 is but one way of making sure of delivery, and that is by means of a prompt order." |
