DEALERS m HOHLDING Need . for Small Dwellings Acute in Practically All i U. S. Cities- 1 ' With the greatest possible emphasis, real estate dealers all over the ctfuntry are advocating the construction of houses to be sold immediately as one of the safest and most "profitable investments now open to capital. The need for small dwellings of four and five rooms is acute in nearly every large American city, and those who want such houses are willing to pay a price that will net the builder a, fair return on his investment. "The situation in Salt Lake is charac- country," said V. A. Bettilyon, president of Bettilyon Home Builders company. "Hundreds of homes of moderate size could be sold over night here in Salt Lake, so great is the demand. And if those homes could be built in the immediate imme-diate future it would be one of the best things that could possibly happen for the development of the city. As one eminent financial authority put It: " 'The big problem is on dwelling house building for investment. There is a tremendous need for more houses. This demand is not founded on extravagance, but on necessity. The situation presents an opportunity for real service, which means that it is an opportunity for profit.' v "A feature of the situation which makes such an investment pa rticularly advisable at this time is the present price of vacant lots. Real estate moves upward up-ward or downward more slowly than any other commodity. This fact explains why vacant lots are now being sold at the same prices as prevailed before the war. Lots even in the most select part of the city can be purchased at figures which are astonishingly low in their comparison compari-son with the present basis of prices in other things. "The Bettilyon organization is bending every effort to promote the erection of more houses. We have the customers for them ready and are now devoting our- 1 selves to finding the available capital to build houses. Furthermore, wo have a complete list of vacant lots representative representa-tive of the entire city, and are conse- : qurn t!y in a position to oo-operate effectively ef-fectively with anyone who desires to ' erect houses for sale." |
