Show COMMITTEES NAMED BY PEACE. LEAGUE j Speeches Made by Taft Party Heard by 269,000 in Many Cities. Utah Branch Ready to Send Out Information and Informal Speakers. A report L-st leceived at the Salt "Lake office of the League to Enforce Peace shows that 250,000 American people heard the speeches of the Taft party which recently re-cently toured the country. It shows that the total attendance at the mountain congress, held In Salt Lakes February 21 and 22, equaled that of Minneapolis, Portland, Port-land, St. Louis and Atlanta, and was only outdlntanced by the audiences of the San Francisco congress. Fiom tho report it can be seen that enthusiasm for the sessions ses-sions increased by bounds as tho party traveled westward. At the New York, Boston and Chicago peace congresses each had a total attendance at all sessions of their meetings of I;., 000. Salt Lake. Minneapolis. Min-neapolis. St. Louis, Portland and Atlanta each had totals of 20,000. The audiences of the San Francisco congress reached the c'0-000 mark. The Taft party traveled in ;.ll 6034 miles. They visited thirty-two states and wero twenty-six days en route. There were forty-seven congress sessions held and eighteen other meetings in congress cities, nine meetings in cities and towns on route and thirty platform sessions. Counting luncheons arid dinners given in honor of the party, the total number of audiences before whom the congress speakers appeared numbered 175. A total number of 222 speeches were given. Out of this number President Taft hlmscif gave forty inc.oor unci thirty-one train addresses. Many Delegates Registered. There war a totai of 21.B4S delegates . registered, the mountain congress having the smallest number, EMI, and the San i Francisco the largest, ts.;t. 1 Interest in peace league propaganda seems to be spreading throughout L"tah. Already requests are being made at the local office for speakers by various organizations or-ganizations anj a long schedule or appointments ap-pointments is being made up for league officials. Chairman Nephi L.. Morris of the stale branch will speak this morning at 11 o'clock in the Unitarian church. He lias also accepted an invitation to speak before an Ogden ISlghtii ward audience Sunday, March 30. Professor Levi Edgar Young has Veen asked to address the ;nivt.rsity o'r Wyoming at Laramie and the Polysophieal society of Denver, both of which invitations he has accepted for early in April. He will also speak before the B. Y. U. at Provo. Fred C.
