Show EQUALIZATION BOARD PREPAREDFOR WORK B. H. Roberts President and William Bailey Secretary Secre-tary of Body. The first meeting of the state board of equalization following the naming of the membership by Governor Bamberger was held yesterday afternoon. Henry Gwll- hams of Ogden is the only new member. ; B. H. Roberts, who returned to the board j yesterday for the first time since he was made chaplain of the H5th field artillery, ! was elected president. William Bailey of Xephi was chosen secretary. He has hW this position for six years. James T. j Hammond of Salt Lake is the fourth mem- ; ber of the equalization board to be select-eel select-eel by the governor. Tha stale tax board is required to meet January 2 of each year and to continue its business during the entire year. Among the duties of the board is to make a biennial bien-nial report to tho legislature showing, first, the assessed acreage of each county in the state; second, the amount assessed per acre; third, the aggregate value of town and city lots; fourth, the aggregate value of all real estate and mining claims, stating each separately; fifth, the kind ol property in each county and the value of each 'kind: sixth, the aggregate value of all personal property in the state; seventh, any further information or suggestion relative rel-ative to the assessment of property and the collection of revenue.
