He is the property of Jlrs. II. II. Henderson of .Ogden, who recently purchased him from Franz J. Heilboru of the famous Paragon kennels, riainville, Mats. Sir Twinkle was the winner of four first prizes at various dog shows held in 1917 at Boston, Mass. The Boston terrier is a pet dog of recent popularity. He is as much bulldog bull-dog as terrier, but has lott the wrinkled face and bowed legs of the former, while retaining its brindled markings and screw tail' It weighs from fifteen to twenty pounds, and is judged in two classes, large aud small. It has been only within the last few-years few-years that, the Boston terrier has been recognized by the American Kennel club. A large" number of dog fanciers favored the breed, while, on the other hand, an equally large number were against it. The latter class pointed out that the Boston terrier was nothing more nor less than a mongrel, and that it could not be bred true to form. After a stiff battle, however, the followers fol-lowers of the breed won their point, the dog being recognized by the. American Ameri-can Kennel club. Tho Boston terrier immediately came into favor, enjoying a "renter popularity for such a short space of time than any other class of l'sir Twinkle is an exceptionally intelligent intel-ligent dog and holds a high place in tbe affection's of the Henderson family. |
