Chester A. Snyder Honored Guest at Birthday Birth-day Social Affair. , The home of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Zimmerman, Zim-merman, 1S5 T street, was the center of a brilliant social affair last Thursday evening, eve-ning, March 20, when eighty or more people, peo-ple, representing about thirty-five families fam-ilies from the congregation of the Central Cen-tral Christian church, gathered in celebration celebra-tion of the thirty-fourth birthday anniversary anni-versary of the pastor, the Rev. Chester A. Snyder. Readings were given bv Mrs. W. A. Wight, Mrs. C. E. Rigney and Mrs. A. J. Becker. Mrs. Gentry and others furnished on joy able piano selections. selec-tions. A. T. McCanne delivered a short address fitting to the occasion. A feature fea-ture of the evening was found Hi short written birthday greetings to the Kev. Mr. Snyder from various persons present, which were read to the guests. Ice cream and cake were served as refreshments. Mr. Snyder has been pastor of the Central Cen-tral Christian church in this city nearly four years, and under his leadership the church has attained a high standing in the community. During tho past summer sum-mer and fall the Rev. Mr. Snyder assisted assist-ed in the Young Men's Christian association associa-tion work at Fort Douglas, also rendering render-ing service in combating the "influenza epidemic. Later he was sent to the government gov-ernment training camp In Kentucky for chaplains, from which institution he was graduated soon after the armistice was signed, returning to Salt Lake as lieutenant lieu-tenant chaplain. |
