Show MAJOR GENERAL OF CIVIL WAR IS DEAD PENVTCR, June 14. Major General George M. Randall, retired, veteran of the civil and Spanish-American wars, died here today after a short illness, aged "7 years. He retired in October, 1305. After serving in Alaska, General Randall Ran-dall saw service in the Philippine islands during the Spanish-American war. While a brigadier general he was in command of the central division of the United States army with headquarters in St. Louis. During his service in the Philippines General Randall did much toward the pacification of the natives and was called "the father of the Filipinos," a title which cluny to him during the rest of his life. |
