Probably the greatest change is made in the headipiarters company of the regiment which, under the new organi-.anization organi-.anization orders, will consist of 337 of-liccrs of-liccrs and men when tho regiment is tilled to war strength. Under the old organization tables the headquarters company consisted of about fifty officers ' ami men, and the adjutant of the regi ment was the commanding officer, in fact, he was tho only officer officially assigned to that company. Under tlio changed organization, however, how-ever, Hie adjutant is relieved from duty as commanding officer of the headquarters headquar-ters company and another captain is assigned to that special duty, fie is given several lieutenants as assistants. Detail of Changes. Captain Walter C. Gullion, regimental regimen-tal adjutant, who has been commanding command-ing officer of the headquarters company, com-pany, continues as regimental adjutant, but Captain E. S. Pegram is attached as Commanding officer of the new headquarters head-quarters organization. His assistants aro first Lieutenants B. If. Docker, W. !'.. Bcrgin, W. (j. Allen and Second Lieutenants T. TJ. Davis and H. B. Crowell. There will be still another officer of the headipiarters company when Anton Uoetz, director of the regimental regi-mental band, receives his commission , as as second lieutenant, in command of the baud seel ion of tho company. Mr. i Coetz's commission is duo to arrive from Washington most any day now. Lieutenant Stephen Peretzky is assigned as-signed as acting personnel officer of the regiment, and as such heads the newly creatod personnel division, which consists con-sists of a personnel officer, one ser-.; ser-.; gcant major, with equal rank as tho regimental sergeant major, and three ! battalion sergeant majors of rank with the regimental battalion sergeant nut iors. The battalion commanders, as assigned as-signed by the new order, are as follows: first battalion, Captain John L. Parkinson, Par-kinson, who as senior battalion commander com-mander also performs the duties of lieutenant lieu-tenant colonel, in having charge of tho training work of the regiment. Second battalion. Captain Oscar A. Straub, commanding; Third battalion, Captain John N. Robinson, commanding. Lieutenant Lieu-tenant W. li. Allen, who has been battalion bat-talion adjutant of the Errst battalion, is relieved from that duty and attached to the headquarters company. Lieutenant Lieuten-ant K. S. Thompson is appointed battalion bat-talion adjutant of the Second battalion, and Lieutenant J. J. McMillan is made battalion adjutant of the Third battalion. bat-talion. New Assignments.
