The chairman said the object of the' alliance was to associate the men and women of all nations comprised in the entente en-tente In a common bond of mutual interest and that its immediate purposes were: To pledge themselves to a steadfast support sup-port of the government in the prosecution prosecu-tion of tiie war to a righteous victory, to overthrow Prussian militarism and render ! it incapable of further evil. j To advocate the formation of a lea sue ' of nations to help in winning that victory vic-tory and afterward to insure for the world an abiding peace. To decline to admit Germany or anv of tier allies to that league, or to sort with them In any way until the crimes committed in this war had been expiated. Their further object was to strengthen the hands of tiie government by awakening awak-ening the people from a state of passivkv and inducing them to respond to the government's gov-ernment's call for help. A resolution pledging those present to further these objects was carried unanimously. |
