Show MILLIONS LOANED BY THELAND BANKS Board Issues Statement Covering Six Months' Work. WASHINGTON. Dec. 21. Loans aggregating aggre-gating $29,S24,00O have been made to farmers bj- the twelve federal land banks in the six months since the farm loan system sys-tem has been in full operation, according to the monthly report of the federal farm loan board issued today. In addition, S70.000, 000 of loans have been approved and will be negotiated at the old 5 per cent interest rate when funds are available avail-able through sale of farm loan bonds privately pri-vately or to the United States treasury under the pending plan to have congress appropriate 5100,000,000 a year for the purchase. Applications for loans have amounted to 5219,000,000, which lias been cut to S1SO,OUO,000 by reductions ordered by appraisers ap-praisers or bv rejections. A total of 1S".H co-operative loan associations, composed of ten or more farmer borrowers, have been chartered. Future loans will be made at the new interest rate of 0V2 Per cent. The greatest volume of loans. $7,390,000, has been rmtde by the "Wichita. Kan., bank, which covers Kansas. Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico, and 344 loan associations have been chartered in this district. Second place is held by the Spokane district, comprising Idaho, Montana Mon-tana , Oregon and Washington, with $5,-:)6(i,000 $5,-:)6(i,000 loans and 2"9 associations.
