Show DESERET mililERS ARE SELECTED! RELAY Race Between Gym Members Mem-bers and Boy Scouts Arouses Interest. Preparations for the relay race between be-tween the Deseret gymnasium and the boy scouts of the city are rapidly going forth, and it promises to be a hard-fought hard-fought event. Bobby Richardson of the Deseret gym gave out his list of men that are to take part in the event, and the boy-scout boy-scout commissioners have been getting busy lately selecting the runners to come from their stakes, 1 The contest will take place next Friday Fri-day at 4 o'clock at the Deseret gymnasium gymna-sium on the large indoor track. "Each boy will run one lap, and with ifty men to a team the race will be approximately approxi-mately three ami one-half 'nules in length. Each team will consist of thirty-five boys between the age of 12 and 14, while the remaining fifteen will be between be-tween 14 and 15. Dr. John Taylor, F. C. Van Buren, J. F. Birkensto'ck and John Giles will act as judges of the finish. Dr. C. G. Plummer and C. R. Grimmett have been selected as timers. The remaining officials of-ficials will be selected as soon as possi-ble possi-ble this week. Following the race a peanut bust, 1 open to any .boy in the city, will be 1 held at the Deseret gym. The feature of this will be the finding of three junior memberships which will be concealed con-cealed in the peanuts. A large number of contestants are expected to take part in this.
