Show Erring Squaw Abandons Her Indian Writer Willie Ottogary Consults Lawyer, Accompanied by Two Pappooses. Special to The Tribune. BRIGHAM CITY, Dec' 2. That even Indiana are not immune from matrimonial grievances was brought to light in this city yesterday, yes-terday, when Willie Ottogary, a bright-eyed bright-eyed Washakie from the 'reservation in the northern part of the county, came to Brigham with his two little copper-colored copper-colored boys with a tale of woe that nad its beginning several weeks ago, when Willie s wife "up and left him," leaving leav-ing the biggest part of the family for her spouse to care for. Ottogary came to Bngham to consult attorneys regarding regard-ing the diorce laws, and selected Henry Hen-ry Seeger, formerly of Tremonton, as his counsel, who will make a thorough investigation into the affairs of the Ottogarys before filing suit for divorce. According to Ottogary, his squaw became be-came infatuated with a young brave of an Idaho reservation and deserted him at their home in Washakie, taking with her the baby daughter and leaving leav-ing her husband with two little boys. He has made one or two trips to Idaho to try to persuade Mrs. Ottogary to return to him, but. without success. In speaking pf the case yesterday, Otto-garv Otto-garv intimated that be could stand the ordeal himself, but added, "The little boys are very lonesome to see their sister. " Willie Ottogary speaks and writes English very well and is known all over northern Ttah as the Indian newspaper newspa-per correspondent. He is the regular Washakie correspondent of Brigham flnd Logan papers, and some of his letters let-ters have got Mark Twain's humor "beat a mile." Ottogary has also done a great deal of traveling. Last year, in company with a kinsman, he made two trips to Washington in the interests inter-ests of the Washakie Indians in an effort to procure more land for his tribe, and has had much dealing with the general gen-eral land office in Salt Lake. Ottogary Otto-gary is also a Mormon in religious belief be-lief and has the distinction of having filled a brief mission to the Deep Creek country a couple of years ago, where he labored among his kinsmen. |
