Show SUFFRAGE ENVOYS WILL BE HERE THIS MORNING Programme for the Day Includes Breakfast at Hotel Utah, Organ Recital, Business Session, .Tea and Mass Meeting. Today's events In women voters' conference: 8:15 a. m. Arrival of "suffrage special " bearing eastern envoys. 9 a m. May breakfast, Hotel Utah. Noon Organ recital, the taber- ! nacle. 2 p. m. THIS morning tho distinguished . suffragists from the east who arc touring tho west for the purpose of appealing to voting women in this section of the country for concerted aid in bringing about national woman's suffrage will arrive on their special train from the north. Their arrival ar-rival will bo the first event of a two dnvs' conference of women voters, for which local suffragists and Miss Doris Stevens, advance emissary from the Congressional Union for Suffrage, have been preparing for several weeks. This conference is the formal windup of the Congressional Union envoys' transcontinental tour. They left Washington Wash-ington on their special April 9, and since that time have visited all important ut-ti ioiw in ( 'nlnrfirlo the southwest. California, the northwest, Montana and Idaho. At the close of the conference tomorrow afternoon they will depart on their special direct for their headquarters headquar-ters in Washington, bearing with them resolutions by the conference declaring for the woman's vote in all the states of the union. Will Have Breakfast. The first day will begin, upon the arrival ar-rival of the special at 8:15, with a flutter flut-ter of flags, a flare of bands and an automobile au-tomobile escort to the Hotel Utah. At 0 o'clock there will be a "May breakfast" break-fast" at that hostelry. Tt will" bo held in the main restaurant, the number of reservations having necessitated relinquishment relin-quishment of the enclosed roof garden as too small. An organ recital at noon and tea at 4:30 at the Utah will be other entertainment features of the first day. There will bo an important business session this afternoon, beginning at 2 o 'clock in the ballroom of the "Utah. Mrs. E. M. Oarnett will preside. Addresses Ad-dresses will be given by Airs. Frederick Walker of Idaho, Mrs. Joseph Carey of Wyoming and Mrs. Harriet Van Home Traphagen of Colorado. The conference will elect two district chairmen for the Pacific coast suffrage states and the inland in-land suffrage states. The general public, is bidden by the suffragists to the afternoon session, but its presence is particularly expected at the big mass meeting to be hold tonight at the Salt Lnke theater. This meeting and the farewell to the eastern envoys tomorrow to-morrow afternoon in Pioneer park will he the big public demonstrations of the conference. Speakers Tonight. The meeting in the Salt Lake theater tonight will begin at S o'clock. Mrs. W. N. "Williams of Salt Lake will be chairman and there will be speeches by the following envoys from the special: Mrs. Harriot Stanton Pdateh of New : York, national political chairman of the Congressional Union; Miss Lucy Burns of New. York, national vice president; Miss Helen Todd of New York; Mrs. Florence Bavard Hilles of Delaware. At the May breakfast this morning Mrs. Richard R. Lyman will be toast-mistress. toast-mistress.
