Show DELAY IS ASKED BY THE NATIONAL BANKS BRIAR CLIFF MANOR. N. T., May 10. The executive committee of the American Bankers' association,, in convention con-vention here, voted to send a committee to Washington to discuss with the federal fed-eral reserve board the advisability of postponing post-poning until a later date than June 15 ihp rppftni order directing national banks to clear through their respective district federal reserve banks. , letter was drafted asking the federal reserve board to delay inauguration of the new system and to confer with the committee, of which the members arc W. H Bucholz of Omaha. B. Ellwood Cox of Mien Point, N. C; G. E. Webb of San Angelo. Texas; Walker Broach of Meridan, Miss., and John McHugh of New York. The general feeling among bankers was that a delay of at least six mouths should be granted in order to give the banks opportunity to adjust themselves in advance. |
