Show he mm ore With That View United Tintic Will Drift for Vein From Combination Shaft. For the purpose of ciitlinrr what is believed to be a large ore body that lies between the two intersecting cross breaks and tho Bullock vein, west of the Combination shaft, on the property prop-erty of the United Tintic. company in the Tintic district, Elmer Duncan, superintendent company, with a force of men will bctrin operations in the Combination shaft on Monday. A drift ill bo started w-cst on tho south cross break and driven until it intersects inter-sects the Bullot'k vein. Two other veins Ho west of tho shaft', the Alaska, which has been proved, and tire Iluilroad voin, which is believed to be -west of tho Alaska. Both of these veins have been known to carry ore and it Is the opinion of the management manage-ment that oro will be disclosod yvheii the intersection is reached. In. speaking of the history of the ore bodies of the Tintic district, Superintendent Superin-tendent Duncan said yesterday that in his opinion, based upon observations extending ex-tending back for a considerable period of time, . the large ore bodies were found in ' the vicinity of cross breaks and the fissure veins that have a northerly and southerly direction. Thoy may lie, he said, either behind the hanging wall or the footwall of the fissure fis-sure near the cross break, or near the fissure and behind what would be tho walls of tho cross break. Lying to tho east of the Combination" Combina-tion" shaft is the Aspenwall vein, -which has been doveloped on the southern portion of tho United Tintic property and which has produced considerable ore. A drift will be started later on along the cross break and to tho east of the shaft for the purpose of picking pick-ing up this fissuro, in which vicmity another ore body should be encountered, according to Superintendent Duncan. Both Superintendent Duncan and L. A. Martin have gono over the ground recently and are confident that the work should develop ore in paying quantities. quan-tities. In the north end of the shaft another cross break was encountered while sinking and at the first level, from which tho initial drift is to be started west, it is estimated that the two cross breaks should intersect one another at the same time they intersect inter-sect the fissure. |
