Tbe demand for war lectures, ha says, means that the people insist on hear ing only those who nave actually par ticipated in the horrors of the great contact. Accordingly the booking has been slow The first war sufferer to be booked by the Pond bureau, said Ma Pond, is E. Alexander Powell, who has just returned to the Lai ted States after tar vice with the Belgian armv and other participants tn the campaign. Mr Pond is much interested in his visit to Salt Lake for the reason that his father the o Linal Major Jamos B. Pond, was formerly in business in Qalt Lake. He was engaged in the farm tare business here in the early day and was one of a group which established The Salt Lake Tribune Later he became be-came engaged in the lyeeum bureau work and removed his headquarters to New York. |
