Show BASEBALL PLAYERS IN FATAL ACCIDENT By International News Service. PUEBLO. Colo., May 23. Half of the Ordway baseball team were killed or maimed while returning from a victory at Cheraw. shortly after 5 o'clock tonight, when an auto bearing four of the play-i play-i ers, the team mascot and a chauffeur, was struck by an easthound limited train on the Arkansas Valley branch of the Santa Fe railroad, just outside the city limits of Cheraw. The inability of the chauffeur to see the approaching train Is given as the cause of the accident. He was on the crossing before he realized bis danger, and then found It too tate to get across or reverse. |
