Card Designated State Head in International Congress of Women. j As a part of the movement to secure j fitting representation at the Panama- Pacific International exposition in 1915, i Mrs. Belle Van Dorn Harbert, president I of the Internationa Congress of Farm Women, has appointed Mrs. Zina T. 1 ; Card the official representative of the organization to take up ' the work planned to be dene in, this state. Mrs. Card lias appointed Mrs. Jennie Hyde and Mrs. Lucy A. Clark of this city as ; tier aids. ! The International Congress of Farm t j Women was born of the need of better ; ! social and economic conditions in rural i j homes. It is composed of -women who ' j . know the hardships of rural life and 1 "who have caught the vision of an ideal ! I life on the farm. It is not a political i organization, nor is it religious except , ! To extend a nelping hand to the women of all nations, regardless of race, ro-t ro-t lisrion or color. ' Mrs. Card has issued a statement set- 3 j ting forth the purposes of the organiza-; organiza-; i -.tion, including the erection of a model ; farm home at the exposition, a demon- stration of the best methods of making !lt ; the farm home attractive, a home where h : the work of the mother will be made l easier, and a place where the children ; will love to stay instead of drifting into the crowded cities.
